Rose Bowl Enhancement Concepts The Thorns proposal advocates any and all Rose Bowl modifications be mild, non-intrusive and seek to build on existing Rose Bowl and Pasadena traditions. The history of the Bowl should be revered and respected. Expanded Rose Bowl concourse. A mild spatial expansion of the existing concourse can make room for selected game time services, including a beer garden, restaurants franchises, a kids play area and information booths. The idea is to provide a fun place for fans to spend time before each game. This will encourage early arrival to the stadium and to increave total Rose Bowl revenue. The services within the expanded concourse will only be operational on game days. New stadium feel, yet in the Rose Bowl's original design. Very Victorian, craftsman motif. Greene & Greene. Luxurious dark wood tones. Earthy early 20th Century feel. Hi Tech with antique aesthetics. Rich wood veneers & brick face. Importantly, there will be a visual connection to Old Town Pasadena. The Rose Bowl would contain the most attractive elements of both the turn of the 20th century and the 21st century.

Lower Row Luxury Boxes. Rose Bowl is an outdoor stadium and should be treated as such. The mid-section field seating lower rows could be converted to box seats similar to those of Hollywood Bowl. These would be sparten boxes with room enough to bring friends, have some snacks and enjoy the game. Mild reconfiguration of the stadium seating. Mid section made more roomy with outdoor boxes. End zone seats widened, made more spacious. Reduce stadium seating by a few thousand. The Rose Bowl, still bigger than most stadiums, is roomy enough to make the experience extremely enjoyable.
